A snowboarding excursion in the Sierra Nevada took a dangerous turn for one individual who veered off course, plunging into a frigid pond. Despite efforts from companions, the stranded snowboarder remained trapped in the freezing waters, prompting a distress call for assistance. Responding swiftly, officers from the Policía Nacional along with ski-resort staff initiated a tricky and daring rescue operation, employing a rope to hoist the distressed individual to safety. Upon extraction, immediate attention was administered as the snowboarder exhibited symptoms of hypothermia. First aid measures were promptly applied at the scene before the victim was transported to the resort’s medical facilities for further evaluation and treatment.
