VIII Triatlón Cros Nazarí #387
Registrations will open on August 2 at 10:30 AM on the website www.triatlonandalucia.org.
Almuñécar will host the thrilling endurance sports competition with the eighth edition of the Triatlón Cros Nazarí #387, which will be a qualifying event for the II Copa Andalucía de Triatlón Cros 2024. The event will take place on September 6 from 5:00 PM at the “El Pozuelo-Pepe Matías” park in Almuñécar.
The competition is organized by the Nazarí Club of Almuñécar with the support of the City Council, the Sexitano Tourism Board, Civil Protection, Local Police, Mancomunidad Costa Tropical, the Andalusian Triathlon Federation, and the Granada Provincial Council, along with local businesses.
This event is open to the following categories: junior, under-23, absolute, veterans 1, 2, and 3, and local, for both men and women. Information and registration will be available on the website from July 23 at 10:30 AM until September 2 at 11:59 PM.
Races
The adventure begins with a 1,000-meter swim at Playa del Pozuelo, which this year features a new course fully adapted to federation regulations. This change facilitates the start of the race for triathletes, eliminates unnecessary travel, and makes it easier for spectators to follow and for security teams to monitor the event.
The second new feature is the updated transition area, where both T1 and T2 will now be approached from left to right, as seen from the beach. This improvement ensures that all athletes cover the same distance while pushing their bikes during transitions, and it also introduces a new start for the mountain biking (BTT) segment at El Pozuelo Park.
“Defining character” is the best way to describe the 22-kilometer BTT course, which winds through trails, paths, and tracks in Almuñécar and Ítrabo. It features challenging climbs, exhilarating descents, and breathtaking views.
Finally, the event concludes with a six-kilometer run on mixed terrain within the Parque del Mediterráneo, where beaches and trails come together to create a dynamic and scenic course.
