The superb climate – which gives an average 320 days of sunshine each year and hardly any wind or rain – and the spectacular landscape combine to make the Costa Tropical a paradise for golfers, and Europe’s number one golf destination. There are currently 70 golf courses in the Andalusia region, and at least 30 more under construction. Most of these courses are situated either on, or within a short driving distance of the coast. The popularity of golf in the region can be gauged from the fact that the number of registered golfers here, according to figures published by the Real Federacion Española de Golf, exceeds the total number of golfers in the rest of Spain.
Below is a selection of some of the most outstanding courses in the area, with links to their websites.
