Every year in May, Salobreña hosts the Artepeazos International Urban Art Meeting, an event that transforms this picturesque town in Granada into an open-air museum. Renowned artists from around the world come to leave their mark, creating murals, sculptures, and artistic compositions that blend harmoniously with the urban landscape.
Thanks to this event, the Salobreña Urban Art Route has been established, a thematic tour that allows visitors to discover all the works created during each edition. The murals, located on building façades and other emblematic spaces in the town, can be enjoyed freely and for free. These works not only impress with their color and creativity but also invite reflection or pay tribute to Salobreña’s history, notable figures, and traditions. Visitors can scan a QR code to download a map of the route and start their visit independently.
During Artepeazos, the streets of Salobreña, as well as Lobres and La Caleta, fill with activities for all audiences. Highlights include painting and sculpture workshops, talks with writers, open-air concerts, gastronomic tours, and school activities, giving people the chance to meet muralists and explore urban art without any prior knowledge.
Visitors can watch artistic projects take shape in real time and, in some cases, even chat with the artists while they work on their creations. Artepeazos thus offers not only an aesthetic experience but also an interactive way to engage with culture and creativity.
With this initiative, Salobreña has become a benchmark for international urban art, turning the town into a vibrant space full of color, talent, and emotion. Don’t miss the magic of Artepeazos and experience urban art at its finest.
