La historia de la regi\u00f3n es tan rica y colorida como sus caracter\u00edsticas naturales. Fue aqu\u00ed, en Granada, donde Crist\u00f3bal Col\u00f3n convenci\u00f3 a la reina Isabel para que financiara su expedici\u00f3n a las Indias, lo que, por supuesto, llev\u00f3 al descubrimiento de Am\u00e9rica. Y fue aqu\u00ed donde las dos fuerzas opuestas del cristianismo y el islam \u2013 el Este y el Oeste \u2013 tuvieron su confrontaci\u00f3n final, en la que Granada se convirti\u00f3 en la \u00faltima ciudad musulmana independiente de la pen\u00ednsula ib\u00e9rica.
Los \u00edberos-celtas, los moros, los visigodos, los fenicios, los cartagineses, los griegos y los romanos tuvieron el control de Granada en diferentes per\u00edodos de su historia, y cada uno de estos ocupantes dej\u00f3 su huella en la cultura, la literatura, la m\u00fasica, el arte, la gastronom\u00eda, la arquitectura y muchos otros aspectos de la vida y sociedad andaluza. La historia de la Costa Tropical es un tapiz tejido con hilos de antiguas civilizaciones, conquistas e intercambio cultural. Situada a lo largo de la costa mediterr\u00e1nea de Espa\u00f1a, esta regi\u00f3n ha sido un cruce de civilizaciones durante milenios.<\/p>

Influencia Fenicia y Romana: La historia comienza con los fenicios, quienes establecieron rutas comerciales a lo largo de esta costa alrededor del 1100 a.C. Les siguieron los romanos, quienes dejaron su huella con impresionantes yacimientos arqueol\u00f3gicos, como la antigua f\u00e1brica de salaz\u00f3n de pescado en Almu\u00f1\u00e9car.<\/p>

Dominio Musulm\u00e1n: La Costa Tropical fue testigo del periodo isl\u00e1mico en la historia de la pen\u00ednsula ib\u00e9rica. Los musulmanes, que llegaron en el siglo VIII, construyeron fortificaciones, campos en terrazas y sistemas de riego que a\u00fan se utilizan hoy en d\u00eda. El Castillo de San Miguel en Almu\u00f1\u00e9car es un testimonio de su habilidad arquitect\u00f3nica.<\/p>

Reconquista Cristiana: Los Reyes Cat\u00f3licos, Fernando e Isabel, lideraron la Reconquista Cristiana a finales del siglo XV. Las defensas costeras de la regi\u00f3n se fortalecieron con la construcci\u00f3n de fortalezas y torres de vigilancia.<\/p>

Ataques de Piratas y Comercio: La ubicaci\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica de la Costa Tropical la hizo susceptible a ataques de piratas durante los siglos XVI y XVII. Sin embargo, tambi\u00e9n facilit\u00f3 el comercio entre Am\u00e9rica y Europa, lo que trajo prosperidad a la regi\u00f3n.<\/p>
