La ciudad se encuentra en lo alto de un barranco por el que fluye el r\u00edo Alhama. The natural pools vary in size and temperature, so the ideal approach is to try them out and stay in the one where you feel most comfortable. In the upper pool, the smallest one, the temperature reaches above 40\u00baC. The second, oval-shaped pool can accommodate 8 to 10 people without crowding, with a slightly milder temperature and a concrete bottom. The third natural pool, which pours its water into the river, is the coolest, although the bottom is sandy-muddy. This last pool is where people from the town used to wash clothes, belongings, or bathe themselves.
