For over a decade, Marwán has been recognized as one of the leading voices in singer-songwriter music in Spain and Latin America. Following a tour of 70 concerts across Spain and 10 in Mexico with his latest work, “El Viejo Boxeador,” he returns with his album “20th Anniversary.” In this album, he re-records and collaborates in various duets with numerous national and international artists on the songs from the record.
The first single, “Mi paracaídas,” has been recorded with Mikel Izal, the frontman of the band Izal. The remaining duets will be revealed month by month leading up to the album’s release at the end of September. In this new album, Marwán opts to reinterpret his songs with a more modern sound, moving away from the singer-songwriter stigma, giving each song a refreshing makeover. This updated approach aligns with the natural evolution of an artist who continues to grow, as evidenced by his previous album’s unanimous critical acclaim, marking a significant shift in his musical dimension. Escaping clichés and striving to broaden his sonic scope to align with his current tastes and a broader universe has been the theme of this album. Alongside the album, he will embark on an international tour of over 60 concerts spanning 10 countries to celebrate his musical journey.
The “Marwán phenomenon” continues to grow with performances for thousands in Spain and Latin America. Additionally, his success extends to his poetry books, with over 200,000 copies sold. He has been appointed “Musician for Peace” at the European Parliament and has garnered several awards both as a singer and writer.
